- Shitreet, Bekhor Shalom
- (1895-1967)Israeli politic-ian. He was born in Tiberias. He was commander of the police in Lower Galilee and between 1935 and 1948 served as a magistrate in several towns. After the estab-lishment of the State of Israel, he served as minister of police and minister of minorities, as a representative of Sephardi and Oriental communities. Subsequently he was a member of the Knesset for Mapai.
